Laboratories
It is always believed that theoretical knowledge is an incomplete knowledge unless applied. So, to give our students the practical knowledge we have established different laboratories that enables the students to not only learn but also perform. In our lab, we expect our students to get hands-on experience of all the activities that are carried out while maintaining quality and safety standards.
The laboratories presently functioning in our school are as followed:
- Physics Lab
- Chemistry Lab
- Biology Lab
Our Laboratories are well equipped with all the necessary instruments, specimens, apparatus, salts and chemical reagents, etc., which are required for performing different experiments for Grade IX- XII and activities for the junior classes. These well illuminated and ventilated rooms add cherry to the cake as it facilitates an environment of safe and sound learning while performing.
Computer Lab
Computer is a device that is a storehouse of information. For the holistic technological growth of our students, we have two state of the art Computer labs, for Seniors and Juniors, respectively. Both the labs are well equipped with ample number of latest Computers which ensure best performance. The students have designated lab periods in their Time Table and the teachers take them there for practical application as per the schedule, without fail. The students are encouraged to apply their classroom learning as well as hit and trial method to solve problems before seeking help of their teachers who are present as their facilitators and guide. This develops the skill of learning by practising in students which further strengthens their problem solving skills.
Maths Lab
The Maths Lab has been established keeping in view the need for practical application of classroom learning. For instance, a concept as simple as that of Area and Volume can be explained better in the lab with the help of an activity instead of repetitive formulae which the students are often forced to memorize rather than applying it in real situation. Maths Lab, thus, enable the students to apply their mathematical formulae in real situation as opposed to merely writing them in the notebook. It peeks students’ interest in a particular topic when they have a hands-on experience through an activity. The teachers make sure that the designated activities for all the classes are duly performed that enriches the understanding and applicative knowledge of students. Furthermore, students have time and again been motivated and encouraged to prepare projects on several topics such as Height and Distance, Arithmetic Progressions and Statistics which have also been exhibited in the past in Maths Exhibition.
Language Lab
Another gem of our school’s infrastructure is the Language Lab which has been formed keeping in view today’s growing language concerns. Language comprises of 4 key terms, LSRW: Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing. Apart from the usual classroom teaching and learning that strengthens students’ Reading and Writing Skills, students are also encouraged to strengthen their Listening and Speaking skills in Language Lab where they do various activities related to the same
The teachers make sure that they are exposed to linguistics, different accents, and others, which facilitates their command over language. Even during these trying times, the teachers have made sure to show students curriculum related videos over e-platforms that has helped them inculcate interest in the students.
